Abstract This work was conducted on 30 subjects, 6 of them were normal control group and 24 patients were included under two groups, FHF group and acute on top of chronic HF group, whom selected from inpatient. Medical were Department, Mansoura University Hospital. Significant reduction of factor Vacti vity was found in patients with severe liver disease whether FHF or acute exacerbation of chronic hepatic failure However, this reduction of factor Vactivity was more ajuncted to cases of FHF group. 3) 50% of factor V activity has been found to be the upper limit in the whole studied group of patients, so factor V activity can be used as a good indicator for severe liver disease. 4) Factor V activity was found to be significantly correlated with other accepted traditional parameters for severe liver disease and this correlation was found to be relatively higher in FHF group than in acute on top of chronic HF. |
