Abstract
The present work can ”be summarised as follows^ I- The goal of this study was to find the exact - relation between allergic rhinitis and thyroid imbalance r in Dakahliah and Damietta provinces^ II-Review of literature about this relation,revealed the following facts: 1-Allergic rhinitis and vascmotor instability are tv/o clinically simillar conditions, that is why so much confusion has been existed about the terminology of allergic rhinitis (pages 24, 101& 104) 2-¥okers tryingto find the relation between > y allergic rhinitis and thyroid activity, were handicapped because ; a~The exact assessment of the thyroid function is still not possible except in centres using radioactive iodine foe this purpose(page 49)* b—Tests that are in use for detection of the accused allergen are still unreliable, and the basic step in its detection is the history (page 32) 3-Some workers stated that”allergic rhinitis is very commonly associated with hyperthyroidism,while
