Abstract HLA are glycoprotein antigens located on the cell membrane of all human cells especially lymphocytes. This system comprises 5 major loci namely -A, -B, -C, -D and DR. Each individual has its HLA typing. It can be determined by three different tests, namely, leucoagglutination, complement fixation and microlymphocytotoxicity test. The later test is than adopted in this work. In our work, 20 patients with cancer bladder were properly diagnosed, together with 10normal subjects as a control group. For both control and disease cases, the following were done, ABO grouping, the secretor status and HLA typing by two step microlymphocytotoxicity according to terasaki or NIH. In this work, we found that, BW35 antigen is predominant in patients with cancer blader reoresenting 65% of cases when compared to the control in which it is only 30%. It is clear that cancer bladder is common in blood group A representing 55% of cases while group A represents 25%of the control. |
