Abstract In this investigation the shaft center orbits for sef-acting gas-lubricated long journal bearing subjected to sinu-soidally time varying and roating lods are determined. the equations of motion of the rotor are solved simultaneously with the time dependent isotherma reynols equation using numerica methods. the initial position of shaft cener and its velocity componets in the direction of two fixed coordi-nates x,y and the initial pressure distribution through out the bearing are assumed. |
