Abstract
In the present investigations, the creep curves resulting from the normal creep test have been studied on the commercial copper and aluminium. Wires of 0.5 mm in diameter were experimentally used. The testing temperature varied over the range 303 - 573 k while the effect of the applied stress has also been studied in the range of 5 - 24 kg/mm2. As the annealing process has an utmost importance in the industrial cycle of fabricating copper and aluminium wires, the annealing temperature effect on the creep test was also investigated over the annealing temperature range 448 - 823k.
