Abstract Heating of the ion component of a radially non - uniform dense plasma cylinder under the conditions of double ion - cyclotron resonance, in the linear and quasi - linear approxi - mations, is investigated. In the linear approximation, the electromagnetic field is produced by external azimuthal current of an arbitrary shape. The power absorbed by plasma ions is calculated at arbitrary ion distribution function. It is shown that in some plasma regions, the work of the electromagnetic field on the current can be negative. |
