Abstract
For the last few years, lithium fluoride (Lif) and calcium fluoride (CaF2) have attained the most general applications in thermoluminescence dosimetry (TLD). Because of the nearly tissue equivalent response of Lif, great interest has been centered on this compound as a generally applicaticable dosimeter. Unfortunately, the wide spread use of Lif has been stopped by the high cost of the material.
