Abstract
In the presented work, the author directed her attention to determine the rare earth elements in monazite. monazite is considered to be the only source of R. E. S. and thorium in black sand . rare earth elements represent 60% of monazite. the author also extended her work to develop the qualitative. semiquantitative spectrographic techniques to be as sensitive as possible for the determination of rare earth elements in the mineral under investigation.
