Abstract Lake Manzala is the largest lake of lower Egypt. It lies in the northeastern quadrant of the Nile Delta between 31° 00 and 31° 30 latitude and31°45and 32°20 longitude, parrallel to the Mediterranean sea to which it is connected by several strauts. It is also connected with Suez Canal by Quboti canal. Lake Manzala is not matitime in origin and formation, but was created by the accumulation of Nilotic water in the low district where it exists. |
