Abstract ٍStr. thermophilus and Lac. bulgaricus were isolated into pure cultures from seven different commercial yogurt starter cultures (designated I-VII). Additional Lactobacilli and Streptococci from two therapeutic commercial starter cultures (designated VIII and IX) that contained Lac. acidophilus, Bif. bifidum and Str. thermophilus were also isolated. All the above starter cultures are currently in use for making yogurt at Misr Company for Milk and Foods. |
