Abstract

Molecular systematic studies are the most commonly used to study the genetic structure of populations and to assess phylogeny among taxa. Moreover, the analysis of DNA variation for both nuclear and organellar genomes are the recent biotechnology used in the field of plant systematics. the advent of PCR and DNA sequencing techniques has made the phylogenetic studies at different taxonomic levels feasible. ndhF, one of twenty genes in the chloroplast genome which have been reported as useful markers in comparative sequencing studies, and considered a recent phylogenetic tool in plant molecular systematics. However, the nuclear ribosomal DNA region ITS is considered more reliable source of data in comparison to chloroplast genes to reconstruct phylogeny at species level.
