Abstract
The N-Mannich bases of compounds II were prepared directly by the reaction of II with piperidine or morpholine and formaldehyde in mathanol. they are also prepared through the N-hydroxymethyl derivative of II. warming the N-hydroxymethyl derivative with the secondary amine gave the the N-Mannich bases IV and V.
