Abstract
The dyes obtained vary in colour from yellow to orange and their ultraviolet and visible spectra in nonaqueous solutions showed that most of them have two main absorbtion bands. a wide absorbtion band of a relatively weak intensity at approximately 290 mu, and a broad absorbtion band of relatively high intensity. It wss noticed that the washing fastness of triacetate yarns dyed with rhodanine azo dyes was generally better than that of yarns dyed with N-phenyl 5-azo rhoddanine dyes.
