Abstract Caesarean section is increasing worldwide, now measuring more than 1 in 5 (21%) of all deliveries. By 2030, The number of caesarean deliveries is set to continue increasing over the coming years, to constitute 30% of all deliveries. The WHO has tested the concept of auditing adopted by ‘Robson’ group methodology and Intrapartumaudit.org that simplifies the way of entering the obstetric data and to get the statistics required for continuous improvement of quality of care. The WHO’s Robson Classification Implementation Manual illustrates a full interpretation of the groups and how to implement an audit strategy. The aim of this study was to test the proof of concept of using the intrapartum audit software system. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 1000 prospective consecutive cases at Elshatby maternity hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.
