The study was conducted at all critical care units (N= 23). Subjects of the study The total population of nurses n= 415 who work in the previously mentioned units, the targets subject n= 360 were recruited to collect necessary data by using convenient sample. Tools: Two tools were used in the study.: Tool I: Ambidextrous Leadership Questionnaire (ALQ): It was developed by Rosing et al., (2011) and was adopted by the current researcher to ask nurses to rate their first line nurse managers’ ambidextrous leadership behaviors using opening and closing behaviors. It consists of 14 items divided into two dimensions namely, opening ambidextrous leader behaviors and closing ambidextrous leader behaviors, each dimension has seven items. The nurses’ responses were measured on a five-point Likert scale ranging from strongly agrees (5) to strongly disagree (1). The overall score is ranging from 14 to 70; low ambidextrous leadership from 14 < 32.6, moderate ambidextrous leadership 32.6 < 51.3, and high ambidextrous leadership 51.3 < 70. The reliability of this tool was tested by Rosing et al., 2011), and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was 0.90, 0.81 for opening and closing ambidextrous leadership behaviors respectively. Tool II: Innovative Behavior Inventory Questionnaire (IBIQ): It was developed by Lukes and Stephan (2017) and was adopted by the current researcher to assess the level of innovative work behavior among nurses. It composed of 23 items that are grouped into seven dimensions, including idea generation (3 items), idea search (3items), idea communication (4 items), implementation starting activities (3 items), involving others (3 items), overcoming obstacles (4 items), and innovation outputs (3 items). The responses were measured on a five-point Likert scale ranging from strongly disagree (1) to strongly agree (5). The overall score will be ranged from 23 to115 and low IWB 23 < 53.7, moderate IWB 53.7 < 84.4, and high level of IWB 84,4 < 115. The reliability of this tool was tested by Elsayed et al., (2024), and |
