Abstract

Hepatic encephalopathy causes significant morbidity and mortality and
is responsible for considerable burden on patients and their caregivers
(Ferenci, 2017).The nursing care plays a great importance in the
treatment of patients with hepatic encephalopathy as nurses can help in
recognition and treatment of HE which improves survival outcome with
less complication of patients in intensive care units as well as the nurses
should be aware of the symptoms which cause significant impairment in
quality of patient’s life (Vlaisavljevic & Rankovic, 2015). Providing
nursing care for these critically ill patients is a challenging endeavor, and
the ICU nurse must have sufficient pertinent knowledge and skills.
