Abstract

This study aim of the current work was to formulate educational modules for the anatomy of goat’s eye. The anatomical E- learning modules were the bony orbit, extraocular muscles, associated blood supply and nerves supplying goat’s eye. The current study was performed on five apparently healthy female goats and nineteen goats’ heads. These obtained baladi goats and aging from one to two years old and were used as follow: the five goats were subjected for computed tomography of goat’s eye, and two of them used for radiographic examination. The nineteen goats’ heads were used as follow: one head was used in preparation of skull of goat for demonstration the bony orbit of the eye. Eight goats’ heads were injected by gum milk (Latex 60%) colored red and blue via the common carotid artery and jugular vein respectively for demonstration of the vasculature of goat’s eyes. Ten goat’s heads were thoroughly washed with normal saline and injected with 10% formalin solution through the common carotid artery. Then, the head specimens were kept in 10% formalin solution for three week. After that, the goat’s heads were carefully dissected to demonstrate the extrinsic muscles of eyeball and the nerves supplying it. Additionally, we made 3D specimen for the skull of goat and eyeball and their related extraocular muscles. The first module clarified the bony orbit of goat’s eye. The second module discussed the extraocular muscles. The third module explained the vasculature of the goat’s eye. The forth module described the nerve supply of goat’s eye. The goat orbital parameters were obtained via computed tomography pictures dimension.
