Abstract

Colonic carcinoma is the third most common type of cancer worldwide, representing approximately 10% of all diagnosed cancers.
In Europe, the prognosis of localized disease is quite good; the 5-year overall survival rates are near 90%; however, in patients with regional or distant disease, these rates DROP to 70% and down to 20%, respectively.
In Egypt, it represents 6.5% of all malignancy according to national cancer institute registry, Cairo university during (2000-2011).
The aim of this work is to evaluate the expression of SATB2 expression in colonic adenocarcinoma, and correlate their expression with different clinicopathological variables, and with each other to clarify their actions hoping to find new prognostic, and therapeutic options of this disease (Statistical analysis was made for all cases of colonic adenocarcinoma).
This was a retrospective study performed upon formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens from 50 cases of colonic adenocarcinoma, cases were retrieved Pathology department, Meet Ghamr oncology cancer center during the period of 2017 to 2021.
Ten cases were grade I, 27 cases were grade II and 13 cases were grade III.
Histopathological examination of the studied cases revealed significant positive statistical relations between tumor grade and presence of lymph node metastasis, distance metastasis, presence of lymphovascular invasion and tumor stage. However
