Abstract

Mg ferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized using the citrate-nitrate auto-combustion technique. Also, polypyrrole (PPy) has been synthesized using a chemical polymerization technique. Physically blending ferrite with PPy and/or rGO in various ratios has produced composite samples. The techniques employed in this inquiry include X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) studies. The results have indicated the preparation of the required ferrite nanoparticles. The formation of PPy has been evidenced by FTIR. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the presence of a pure spinel ferrite phase in all samples. The FTIR bands seen at405 cm-1 and 566 cm-1 reflect the
typical vibrations of the bonds of metal ions positioned at octahedral and tetrahedral sites. The FTIR spectra of rGO composites exhibit absorption peaks at 1047 cm-1 , 1453 cm-1 , and 1565 cm-1 , which belong to the functional groups C-O-C, C-O, and C=C, respectively. Moreover, other significant peaks at around 934 cm-1are linked to the pyrrole C-H wagging motion. The 1557 cm-1 band in the MgFe2O4/PPy/rGO spectra is most likely due to a hydrogen bond formed between the polymer chain and the carboxylic group on the outer edge.
