Abstract

Embroidery with a punching needle (punching) is a different technique from the embroidery techniques, and it has appeared recently and has spread on social media programs, but this art is ancient and has fundamentally historical roots. This method depends on the formation of loops on one of the two surfaces of the fabric (the pile stitch) while the other surface of the fabric is flat (flat stitch), which is similar to the filling stitch in traditional embroidery.
This technology was exploited to create products that serve as tourist souvenirs to support tourism and introduce tourists to Egyptian arts. The products were implemented with designs bearing the Egyptian identity, such as designs of ancient Egyptian art, Coptic art, Islamic art, folk art, and Nubian art, taking into account the presence of the aesthetic side and the functional side in implemented products.
