Abstract

Studying the effect of some natural products against
Helicobacter pylori
Helicobacter pylori bacteria has become more common as a major
cause of gastrointestinal diseases, and more than 60% of the world’s adult
population is infected with it, as it is the main cause of stomach ulcersthat
may lead to stomach cancer.
The goal of the work:
Use some natural products to eliminate Helicobacter pylori bacteria.
The results we obtained can be summarized as follows: - Helicobacter pylori bacteria were isolated from biopsy samples of
infected patients. - The best conditions for its growth were to use Columbia blood
agar, in addition to the skirrow supplement, which stimulates the
growth of these bacteria more than others and inhibits others, by
using carbon dioxide incubation at (CO₂ 10%, O₂ 5%, N₂ 85%)
37and pH 7.3 for three days. - Biochemical tests were performed and were found to be positivefor
catalase, oxidase, and urease, in addition to the Gram stain, and
were found to be Gram negative and appear curved bacilli shape. - An identification was made using 16SrRNA and it was taken as no
on the gene bank (OK 298394). - Natural extracts were prepared and tests were conducted to
determine their effect on inhibiting the isolated bacteria, and the
extract that had the highest effect against bacteria was identified,
which is tamarind.
SUMMARY - Concentrations were made to determine the maximum effect of
different concentrations. - This tamarind extract was used to synthesize selenium
nanoparticles and photograph these molecules using an electron
microscope (TEM) and perform FTIR analysis and UV analysis. -
These molecules were separated and their effect on the isolated
Helicobacter pylori bacteria and other standard strains was
observed. This effect was photographed using an electron
microscope (SEM), and cell wall damage and shrinkage in size
compared to the control was observed.
