Abstract
The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of fractional Co2 Laser with or without Triamcinolone or 5-Fluorouracil in the treatment of early post-burn hypertrophic scars as early scars are within first 6 months postinjury. The current study included 30 patients with early postburn hypertrophic scars. All patients were recruited from the Burn unite in the plastic and reconstructive surgery department of Tanta University, Egypt. There were 15 males (50%) and 15 females (50%). Their ages ranged from 16 to 50 years with a mean of 27 ± 11 and a median of 19. 10 patients (33.33%) had a positive family history while 20 patients (66.67%) had no family history of hypertrophic scars. 16 patients (53.33%) had hypertrophic scars in extremities, 11 patients (36.67%) had hypertrophic scars in trunk and 3 patients (10%) had acral hypertrophic scars. Duration of scar ranged from 3 to 8 months with a mean of 4.76667 ± 1.40647 and a median of 5 months
