Abstract Nasal obstruction is the main complaint of a large number of patients in otolaryngologic practice, most of those patients have inferior turbinate hypertrophy. This study aims to improve treatment outcomes of turbinoplasty in adults. The main objective was to compare the effect of submucous bipolar diathermy versus coblation for reduction of hypertrophied inferior turbinate under GA in terms of improvement of nasal obstruction and post operative crustations. The study was conducted as a prospective randomized controlled study following approval of our institutional research board. The study was carried out at the department of otorhinolaryngology, Suez Canal University hospital (SCUH), Ismailia, Egypt. This a prospective cohort study conducted to compare the effect of submucous bipolar diathermy versus coblation for reduction of hypertrophied inferior turbinate as office-based procedures in terms of post-operative crustations, post-operative improvement of nasal obstruction, intra & post-operative bleeding.
