Abstract
Menopausal symptoms are major concerns of postmenopausal women. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and menopause is associated with an increased prevalence of MetS.
The purpose of this study was to improve quality of life of menopausal women by investigating the relationship between menopausal symptoms and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in postmenopausal women.
This cross sectional study included 322 menopausal women who were divided into two groups according to the presence of metabolic syndrome into two groups: Women with MetS included 161 women and Women without MetS included 161 women. We used menopausal rating scale to assess the severity of menopausal symptoms in two women groups, one group consisted of women having metabolic syndrome according to WHO definition when the other group was free.
