Abstract

This prospective study was carried out on 60 patients with ultrasonographically-proven symptomatic gallstone disease.
There was no statistically significant difference between both study groups as regards age, sex distribution, Body mass index, associated co-morbidities and the percentage of patients who had previous abdominal surgeries. Similarly, there was no statistically significant difference between both study groups as regards preoperative ultrasonic gallbladder stone disease features.
Operative time in Diagonal D group ranged from 44 to 120 with mean ± SD = 73.29 ± 17.89 while in Classical C group the Operative time ranged from 40 to 120 with mean ± SD = 68.22 ± 17.03 with no statistically significant difference (p= 0.268) between the two groups.
There was no statistically significant difference between both study groups regarding the mean/median operative time, need for conversion to open cholecystectomy, need for conversion to subtotal cholecystectomy and subhepatic drain placement.
