Abstract

Animal bites are common problems in children .Most of bites coming from dogs and cats. Infection is the common bites’ associated complication. Rabies is considered most important complication of animal bites. Aim: the present study aimed to assess mothers’ knowledge, attitude and practice regarding animal bites for their children. Design A descriptive research design Setting: Emergency Department of Al-Santa Central Hospital. Subjects: A convenience sampling of 300 mothers of children admitted to the study setting
complaining of animal bites was recruited in the current study. Tools: Three tools were used, Tool (I) Mothers’ knowledge regarding animal bites, Tool (II) mothers’ reported practice regarding animal bites and Tool (III) mothers’ attitudes toward animal bites
