Abstract The incidence of eosinophilia in new born infant ranges from 14-76%. Eosinophilia is acommon finding in premature infants during the neonatal period ,And its incidence increase with immaturity .(JUUL SE,2005). Eosinophiles normally account for 1-3% of peripheral blood leukocyte .In neonate , eosinophilia is defined as an eosinophil count of more than or equal to 0.700×109/L,and has been further subclassified as mild (0.700-0.999×109/L), moderate (1.000-2.999×109/L) ,Or severe (<3.000×109/L).(BHUPALA R ,2002) (EHARA A , 2000). Eosinophilia has proven to be related to the development of allergies , family history of allergic disease is the major determining factor .(Sandra .p,2004). We hypothesized that more premature infants would be at greater risk for eosinophilia. |
