Abstract

Unemployment is one of the main problems facing Jordan today, and architects are among the sectors have been affected by this as well. Researcher hypothesis that there is a Gap between the outputs of the higher education system and the professional market demand due to defect in the study plans in architecture engineering education, and lack of appropriate contextual study plans developed by curriculums stakeholders (academics and professionals) . The study is a fundamental research in Epistemology, used mixed techniques (quantitative and qualitative research methods) started with theorizing the curriculum of architecture education, then as inductive approach tokes an overview of current situation of AE in Jordan, then analyze the study plan of 14 universities using curriculum mapping method, comparing to competence model researcher form a questionnaire that distributed to stakeholders. This research theoretically is a branch of positivism philosophy, so researcher transfer the statistical data to meaning full knowledge by analyses the questionnaire result using factor analysis, and Cohen’s weighted kappa, factor analysis, KMO (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin) test in SPSS. Accordingly, we prove the gap between the profession and academic in the discipline, there is a gap in professional competences, no agreement between them about the digital competences needed in the futuristic architects, so we provide a matrix expressing the relationship between the digital courses and the AE courses in a way to express the two point of view, and generate units , and structure to form a contextual model. The study present interactive study plans for digital architecture, because from this time into the future it is not a course used by some computer programs for presentation or model making; instead, it is more profound discipline means that digital skills are well integrated with study plan courses as it serves the course goal and enhances student competencies.
