Several obstacles were found that face the endowment’s contribution to the development of Al-Azhar education, including the weakness of the regulatory apparatus for the funds allocated to Al-Azhar education, the lack of funds allocated by the endowment for Al-Azhar education, the spending of endowment resources on non-basic needs and neglecting of main needs, the control of routine in the Al-Azhar educational institution, which reduces allocated employment funds. Several requirements were found to activate the role of the endowment in developing Al-Azhar education, including the existence of standards for transparency and disclosure of the endowments allocated for Al-Azhar education, helping students with special needs to purchase prosthetic devices for them, and supporting the Al-Azhar curriculum modernization committee and spending on it. The research ended with suggested vision for activating the role of the endowment in developing pre-university Al-Azhar education. |
