Abstract Sanaa Mohamed Shebl Gamaa: Impact of In Vitro Application of Magnetized Water and Chitosan Nanoparticles on Microtuberization of Potato, Department of Arid Land Agricultural Graduate Studies and Research Institute (ALARI), Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University 2023. The present study was conducted in the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Strawberry and Non-Traditional Crops Center, Faculty of Agriculture; Ain Shams University during the period from 2018 to 2019. The objective of the study was to produce potato microtubers by tissue culture technique to be used as a basic material for seeds multiplication. Virus free plantlets of two potato cultivars, ”Spunta” and ”Diamant” were used. This study was divided into two parts as follows: First part, establishment of potato culture in vitro using the two cultivars. Second part, production of microtubers in vitro where four treatments were conducted to study the effect of magnetized water , nano chitosan, magnetized water plus nano chitosan and control on multiplication and microtubers production. The obtained results showed that cultivar “Diamant” was the best than ”Spunta” for all vegetative parameters. The number of nodes using magnetized water, increased in Diamant variety than Spunta variety. Increasing the number of branches for both varieties using magnetized water was detected. The number of nodes and the number of branches of the cultivar Diamant increased by of magnetized water comparing to the Spunta cultivar. The highest weight of microtubers was obtained using magnetized water for Diamant cultivar. The use of magnetized water plus (0,o.4g/l) nano-chitosan led to obtaining the highest number of microtubers in the Diamant cultivar during the microtuberization. Keywords: Potato, Tissue Culture, Nano chitosan, Magnetized Water, Spunta and Diamant. |
