Abstract Sericulture is a traditional industry in many countries all over the world and the life of many people is depended on it. Increase of larval growth and cocoon quality and quantity would result better economics for this industry and meet the production needs. Consequently, the enrichment of mulberry leaves by supplementary compounds with the aim of increasing the production of cocoon is a very important aspect. The present study has been aimed to find out the feed efficacy of some metal nanoparticales treated MR2 mulberry leaves with regard to food utilization by larvae and ultimate impact on the cocoon parameters of silkworm so as to spot out the best nanoparticale which produced heavy and high cocoon quality in Egyptian environmental condition. Results obtained could be summarized as follows: A-Characterization of tested nanoparticles: Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) characterization was performed to determine nanoparticle size and morphology. The morphologies of Ag NPs show that the particles were spherical in shape in the range of 17- 51nm. While TiO2NPs was 20-28 nm,CuO was 6-14 nm and ZnONPs was 10 nm.104 B-Effect of supplementary metal nanoparticles on the mulberry silkworm B.mori This part is an attempt to study the effect of a supplementary metal nanoparticles such as AgNPs, Ti2ONPs, CuO NPs and ZnO NPs on the 5th instar larvae of B.mori. |
