Abstract
SUMMARY This Randomized controlled study was carried out at Tanta university Hospitals, Chest department on 40 subjects. 30 patients with post covid pulmonary fibrosis and 10 healthy subjects who were completely free clinically and radiologically. They were randomly classified into 4 groups: group 1: included 10 patients, they received corticosteroids (prednisone) in the dose of 0.5 mg / kg per day to be gradually withdrawn within one month. group 2: included 10 patients, they received colchicine in the dose of 500microgram / 12 hours for one month. group 3: included 10 patients, they received both corticosteroids (prednisone) in the dose of 0.5 mg / kg per day to be gradually withdrawn within one month. and colchicine in the dose of) 500microgram / 12 hours for one month. group 4: (control group): included 10 healthy volunteers, they were free clinically and radiologically. All Subjects were subjected to: 1- Thorough history taking and complete physical examination. 2- Complete blood picture, C reactive protein, Liver function tests, blood urea and serum creatinine, ESR, Blood sugar fasting and post prandial. 3- Measurement of O2saturration at the start of the study and after one month treatment in the first three groups.
