Abstract Research objectives The aim of the research is to achieve the following: 1. Detecting the fault in the DC cable 2. selectivity in choosing the protection device closest to the location of the fault to separate the defective cable 3. The speed in separating the defective line 4. The defective line only exists without the loads being affected 5. Employing the results of engineering research in developing the course of electrical protection systems for students of the fourth year - specializing in electrical technology - Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University. 6. Developing concepts related to the unit of developed DC network protection systems for students of the fourth year - specializing in electrical technology - Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University. 7. Developing skills related to the unit of developed DC network protection systems for students of the fourth year - specializing in electrical technology - Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University. Limitations of the search The research adhered to the following limits: 1. Spatial boundaries: Electricity Technology Laboratory No. (201) and Lecture Hall No. (205) in the faculty of technology and Education - Helwan University. 2. Time limits: from November 14, 2021, AD to November 25, 2021, AD 3. Human limits: A group of fourth year students majoring in electrical technology, Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University. 4. Objective limits: Electrical protection systems course for students of the fourth year, specializing in electrical technology, Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University. 7. Research Methodology The research followed the descriptive analytical approach when preparing the theoretical framework for research, when preparing the lists of concepts and skills, and when designing the proposed unit planning to be added to the electrical protection systems course and the experimental approach when conducting practical experiments for research. - Application of exploratory experiment - application of experience measuring unit effectiveness - application of research tools before and after. Search results 1. The results showed the absence of scientific lectures and practical training on the protection of small networks in the course of protection systems for students of the fourth year - specializing in electricity technology - Faculty of Technology and Education - Helwan University, where this was proven by extracting scientific concepts and practical skills for the current course and from the results of the application of knowledge and skills test The tribal and the posttest on the students research group. 2. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students of the research group in the cognitive and skill test and the pre and post observation card in favor of the post test. |
