Abstract The purpose of this research is to prepare and characterize the Magnetic activated carbons from fruit peels (MG-OPAC, MG-PPAC) and study their adsorption activity towards the removal of Acid orange7 (AO7), Fast Red B base (FR B base), and hexavalent chromium ions from aqueous solutions. The thesis consists of three main chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the issues concerning water pollution caused by dyes and heavy metals and the methods of wastewater treatment (physical, biological, and chemical). It also contains a literature survey on wastewater treatment by using activated carbons and magnetic activated carbons prepared from natural products. The second chapter includes the experimental part which describes the materials and instruments that have been used, the methods of preparation of magnetic composites, the kinetics of the adsorption process by batch mode technique. |
