المستخلص The Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on Fernald Method for Reducing Reading difficulties, and its Impact on Academic Self-esteem of Primary Stage Students Supervising by: Prof. Dina salah Eddin Moawad Prof. Nadia El-Saeed Abd El-gawad The study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a training program based on Fernald method for reducing reading disabilities among primary school students. The study sample consisted of (30) male and female primary school students who were diagnosed with reading disabilities at Al-Moassah (1) primary school, Nabaruh Administration, Dakahlia Governorate, and their ages ranged between (10-12) years, with an average age of (10.766), a standard deviation of (0.626) and their intelligence quotient (IQ) ranged between (96-133). They were divided into two equal groups: experimental and control groups. Furthermore, the research tools included an academic self-esteem scale (prepared by the researcher) and a training program based on Fernald method for reducing reading disabilities (prepared by the researcher). The study followed the experimental approach. The results of this research concluded that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on the reading disabilities scale in favor of the control group. The results of the research also concluded that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre and post measurements on the reading disabilities scale in favor of the pre measurement whereas there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on academic self-esteem scale in favor of the experimental group. |
