Abstract
The current experiment was carried out in Al-Azhar Aquaponics
(ASTAF-PRO aquaponics) at the Department of Zoology, Faculty of
Science, Al-Azhar University (Assiut branch), Assiut, Egypt. This unit
is a part of a cooperative project to enable the efficient transfer of
innovative ecotechnology ASTAF-PRO aquaponic from Germany to
Egypt for sustainable aquaculture and food production. the present study
was conducted to foster the sustainability in production of Egyptian agro
ecosystems by promoting innovative solutions for competitive food
production systems using polyculture in Aquaponics for the first time.
This will help to bridge the gap in documented knowledge about
aquaponic technology, as well as contribute to human resource
development for long-term sustainability and job creation
