Abstract

I deals with an introduction about the world solar energy as a promising future energy, harvesting solar radiation, types of cells that are used to convert solar energy to electricity. Among the types of these cells are crystalline silicon solar cell, amorphous silicon solar cell, Cadmium Telluride solar cell, Copper-Indium-Selenide (CIS) and Copper Indium-Gallium-Diselenide (CIGS) solar cell, quantum Dot solar cell, perovskite solar cell and especially about organic solar cell, hybrid sensitized solar cell.
A literature review is also given about the synthesis and characterization of the polythiophene and its derivatives especially P3HT that is used as donor in organic solar cell and sensitizer in HSSCs. A complete survey about organic solar cell and hybrid synthesized solar cell components and principles of working are also shown. This chapter ended by the aim of the thesis.
