Abstract Background: The study aims to determine the role of green human resources management practices in achieving hotel environmental goals, and to know any ways that can be adopted and relied upon in order to achieve a balance between the human consumption of the environmental resources available to it and maintaining its continuity. The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach to extrapolate the previous literature in GHRM practices, conduct personal interviews with human resources officials in hotels, analyze the results of those interviews and compare them with the assumptions set before the thesis to determine their validity or not. The study also aims to develop a set of recommendations for human resources managers in hotels. also the researchers in human resorces field, as well as the educational institutions responsible for producing a generation of potential workers in hospitality institutions. Study Problem: The hotels' establishments are becoming more dependent on green human resources management practices to achieve environmental goals. Especially employees awareness of available energy sources which returns on reducing costs (Grolleau et al., 2012) (Mathapati, 2013) (Aykan, E., 2017). Moreover, this lack of attention is directed to GHRM practices and its role on environmental goals in Hotels, should be further explored. ( Renwick et al., 2013) (Zoogah, 2011) ( Belgica et al., 2021) . Notably, in most of the studies as mentioned, there is a lack of literature about the impact of applying GHRM practices in achieving hotels environmental goals. Which was confirmed through an initial field study carried out by the researcher on ten of the study sample hotels. The initial study found that there is no sufficient awareness among hotel human resource managers of the role of GHRM practices in achieving hotels environmental goals. Purpose: There is a main objective for the study which is determine the role of GHRM practices in achieving hotels environmental goals, and there is some of sub-objectives like: - provide a basic understanding of green human resources management for readers. - Shedding light on the various practices of green human resources management. - Identify the extent to which those practices are applied in hotels. - Detail some of the environmental goals that hotels seek. - present a new methodology for human resource management based on transforming current and potential human elements into environmental elements of a green nature. Methodology: The researcher used interviews for collecting data. 24 human resources managers were interviewed and the other 4 hotels were closed because of Covid-19. Qualitative data obtained from interviews were analyzed to get the study objective. Limitations: the sample of the study was the five-star hotels in cairo. As the researcher mentioned that 24 human resources managers were interviewed and the other 4 hotels were closed because of Covid-19. These interviews were conducted with the chosen sample from October 2021 to march 2022. Findings: the green human resources management policies have a positive effect on achieving hotel’s environmental goals. Value: The main contribution of this study is to fill in the literature gap on the impact of green human resources management policies on achieving hotel’s environmental goals.
