Abstract

Different approaches to the lumbar spine have been designated recently, with continuous modifications to decrease trauma and increase feasibility.
The RP to the lumbar spine represents a well-defined surgical technique, and is considered one of the most commonly used spinal procedures. It provides moderately easy entry to the vertebral column, with good surgical outcome majority of patients.
This approach enables the thoracolumbar junction’s load-bearing capacity to be effectively rebuilt and the neural elements to be satisfactorily decompressed.
RP approach is used in many purposes such as corpectomy and anterior lumbar fusion. Corpectomy is used in cases of fractures, infections and tumors.
Even though everything worked out well in the end, there could occasionally be a number of possible complications. Most of these side effects are temporary and self-limiting, but in extremely rare cases, they might need a second surgical procedure or, if left untreated, could even be fatal.
