Abstract
The aim of this work is to develop simple and accurate methods for the determination of some drugs acting on serotonin receptors in commercially used formulations either alone or in the presence of their degradation products and/or their related impurities or in biological fluids using analytical techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography. Drugs cited in this thesis are Vilazodone hydrochloride and Aripiprazole. HPLC is a powerful analytical tool for the separation and analysis of pharmaceutical products. It is incorporated in the plan of this work for the estimation of Vilazodone hydrochloride using different detection mode fluorimetry, UV and MS/MS either in dosage form or in biological fluid. Since the forced degradation study helps in prediction of drug stability and hence shelf life of the pharmaceutical product, Forced degradation study of Vilazodone hydrochloride under different stress conditions was proposed.
