Abstract
Aim. In our study we aim to improve patients` satisfaction about their penile length, specially for those after penile prosthesis implantation through ventral phalloplasty and scrotoplasty. Methods. Transpositioning of penoscrotal junction more proximal by ventral phalloplasty applied over 22 patients ( 9 with previous penile implantation) mean age of 32 yrs who were attending outpatient clinic of Andrology department , faculty of medicine Cairo University.Main outcome measures. Patients satisfaction assessed using 5- points Likert scale pre operative and 2 weeks , 3 months post operative.Also penoscrotal junction to glans tip length measured pre and post operative to measure the percent of newly exposed ventral penile shaft skin. Results. Patients{u2019} satisfaction was significantly improved post operative ( p value 0.001), and that satisfaction was significantly correlated to percent of newly exposed ventral penile skin ( p value 0.001) The technique considered to be safe , not time consuming ( mean of 21 minutes ) , with minimal complications ( one case of ecchymosis, one skin dehiscence, one superficial skin infection) Conclusion. proper counseling for dissatisfied patients dissatisfied about their penile length is mandatory Ventral phalloplasty improve penile exposure and improve patients{u2019} satisfaction and is not a penile lengthening procedure It is a safe , easy , not time consuming procedure with excellent results regarding improving satisfaction about penile length
