Abstract
Introduction: Metabolic syndrome is seen more than one- quarter of patients with chronic hepatitis C, and is independently associated with a lack of sustained viral response. AAiimm ooff tthhee wwoorrkk 1. Estimate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in Egyptian patients with chronic HCV. 2. Assessment of the interaction between MS and hepatic pathological findings. 3. Evaluation of metabolic syndrome as a predictive value of an independent factor in identifying patients those who are likely to fail antiviral treatment.
