المستخلص

Erectile dysfunction (ED) affects 50% of men older than 40 years, exerting substantial effects on quality of life, many older men become unresponsive to medical therapy due to the development and/or progression of their medical co-morbidities, and therefore require penile prostheses implantation to remain sexually active. Aim of the study is to do an assessment on possible complications and disadvantages that face patients underwent semi rigid penile implant surgery as well as patient and partner satisfaction. Results of the assessment of late post-operative complication, in a period range between 4 months to 2 years after surgery, revealed 11 patients (34.4%) were complaining of poor circumferential rigidity, 8 (25%) complaining of DROP penis, 7 (21.9%) of supersonic transport deformity (SST), 2 (6.25%) of painful intercourse, 3 (9.3%) delayed ejaculation, and one patient (3.1%) of delayed infection and abscess formation, Also 4 patients (12.5%) underwent Re implantation mostly due to poor rigidity. On answering the questionnaire; In general all the Questionnaire score variables have significant negative relation with DROP penis and Poor Circumferential rigidity, which ranges from moderate to strong, only except for the 7th Questionnaire score (overall satisfaction with the penile prostheses) which has a negative relation with all types of complications
