Abstract
The original work of the submitted thesis consists of four research projects: In the first project, a series of novel cyclohepta[1,2- d][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a] pyrimidines was prepared by reaction of 9- arylidene cycloheptapyrimidine-2-thione with hydrazonoyl halides. Also, a series of fused cycloheptapyrimidines was synthesized via reaction of 2,7-diarylideneheptanone with heterocyclic amines. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reaction of the latter products with hydrazonoyl halides in presence of basic catalyst afforded the respective novel spiropyrazolines. In the second project: a series of novel 1,3,4-thiadiazoles incorporated with thiazole moiety was prepared by reaction of 5-acetyl-2- benzoylimino-3-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole thiosemicarbazone with each of N-phenyl-2-oxopropanehydrazonoyl chloride and ethyl N- arylhydrazonochloroacetate in basic medium. Also, another series of 1,3,4-thiadiazoles was prepared by reaction of 5-acetyl-2-benzoylimino- 3-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole thiocarbohydrazone with different types of hydrazonoyl halides under the same reaction conditions. The mechanisms of the reactions under study were discussed.
