Abstract

Stability parameters were studied for fifteen extra long genotypes; ten of them were new lines, one promising cross and four cultivars grown at five diverse locations of Delta cotton zone viz; (kafr El {u2013}Shiekh, 2 locations in El{u2013}Behera, El-Dakahlia and Domiat) in the two growing seasons 2010 and 2011. The objective of this study was comprehensively employing several statistical models viz, additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI), Pattern analysis (PA), and joint linear regression models for selecting stable genotypes to grow under Egyptian Delta cotton zone. Ten traits were studied, seed and lint cotton yield, lint percentage, boll weight, seed index, earliness index, fiber length, fiber strength, micronaire reading and uniformity ratio. Results showed significant differences for locations, genotypes (except for boll weight, seed index, micronaire reading and uniformity ratio), years (except for boll weight and uniformity ratio), years x location (except for fiber length), years x genotypes (except for boll weight, seed index and fiber length), genotypes x locations (except for seed index and micronaire reading) and genotype x location x year (except for lint percentage, boll weight, fiber strength and micronaire reading). Results of most stability models used in this study also revealed that genotypes G88, G93, G84{u00D7}PimaS6, F71310/08 and F81338/08 were stable according to most of stability parameters
