Abstract

Cervical myofascial pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder in the general population. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of post-isometric relaxation (PIR) exercise and progressive pressure release (PPR) in patients with cervical myofascial pain and compare between both techniques. A pretest post - test control experimental design. Forty five male patients from Arab contractors Hospital with cervical myofascial pain randomly assigned into three groups, 15 patients in each group. Control group A recieved traditional physical therapy rehabilitation program (Infrared, ultrasonic and exercise). Experimental group B recieved traditional physical therapy program and post - isometric relaxation exercise, and Experimental group C received traditional physical therapy program and progressive pressure release exercise. Pain pressure threshold (PPT) and neck disability index (NDI) measurements were taken pretest and after 4 weeks of treatment
