Abstract This study sheds the light upon outdoor play areas in Cairo, from children’s point of view more than from adults, investigates the children{u2018}s perception of urban spaces; priorities, needs, and problems. The aim is to develop the design approach to accommodate more creative ideas and child developing features so a child would be learning while play, developing his physical, social and cognitive skills and play would be a more interesting experience. This was achieved through listening to children and observing their behaviour towards certain urban features |
