Abstract

Marine environment has been the subject of considerable interest in the recent years because of serious concern that high levels of metals, organic, inorganic and other pollutants may have detri»mental effects on the marine life and may create problems in relation to their suitability for human’s ecosystem. The purpose of this study is to suggest the environmental base line data which helps to put forward the environmental solutions to assess the sustainable development of our communities. Thus the present study focuses on discussing some physical and chemical parameters such as temperature, pH, total dissolved salts (TDS), salinity, chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen and total alkalinity nutrients (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, ortho-phosphate), calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulphate and some of heavy metals as lead, cadmium, copper and zinc in the seawater and bottom sediments by applying statistical parameters like ANOVA, post hock, correlation {u2026}etc to configurate them against the maritime data and GIS information of the area under study to predict the moment of the pollutant and distribution
