المستخلص We aimed to elucidate the impact of childhood obesity on circulating Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor One and analyze the relation of Plasminogen Activator InhibitorOne to metabolic syndrome risk factors. Cross-sectional study was conducted on 43 obese children comparing them with 44 healthy weight sex and age matched control group in the Diabetes Endocrine and Metabolism Pediatric Unit, Cairo Univesity. Four all subjects, the following were done: full history taking, clinical examination, anthropometric measurements of obesity in the form of weight, height, BMI, waist circumference (WC), hip circumference (HC) and skin folds thickness (biceps, triceps and subscapular skin folds) and laboratory investigations in the form of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, fasting blood sugar, fasting insulin, insulinresistance estimated by HOMA-IR and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor One by ELIZA technique |
