Abstract The main aim of the present study was to develop the linguistic performance skills of Yemeni EFL student-teachers in light of their needs. Results of the Needs Analysiss Questionnaire showed that most of participants{u2019} needs were related to the writing skill. The Writing Test and the Grammar Test revealed that percentages of participants{u2019} grammatical errors were as follows: tenses 18.13%, prepositions 16.48 %, relative clauses 14.24%, connectors12.6%, the passive10.17%, question tags 9.30%, conditionals 8.81%, adverbs 5.72% and adjectives 4.55. Consequently, a program was set up to fulfill participants{u2019} needs in these areas. Results proved that there was a significant difference between mean scores of the experimental group in the Grammar Test in favor of the post administration and their performance in the Writing Test improved also due to the effect of the program. To evaluate the participants{u2019} repertoire of vocabulary, two vocabulary tests were used and they revealed that participants performed at a higher level in the Receptive Vocabulary Levels Test than their performance in the Productive Vocabulary Levels Test |
